Eglinton Way BIA

Summer Passport

The Eglinton Way Business Improvement Area is a Toronto BIA with a commercial district that runs along Eglinton Ave, between Avenue Rd and Chaplin Cr. The BIA has a mandate to maintain and beautify their commercial neighbourhood beyond city service standards and to activate the public realm with public installations and events that by extensions nurture economic development within the designated area.

Scope

The Eglinton BIA had been hit hard with the Eglinton Crosstown subway construction so they wanted to create something to re-engage the local residents with local shops. We created a shopping passport that was mailed to every resident around the BIA. The idea was every local shop could create a deal, the customer would bring in the passport, have it stamped and retrieve the deal or prize. All residents that got a stamp from each business in the passport during the summer of 2019 and dropped it off at the BIA office was entered into a draw for a grand prize.
